The project focus is on the creation of a substantial increase of the real estate value of the existing buildings through a significant energy and architectural transformation. The goals of the proposal consist of an important reduction of the pay back time of the interventions of energy retroffitting, through the grafting of new volumes.
As the area of interest is characterized by a well established living population, the main challenge was to interfer as little as possible with the life of the community. For this reason a modular prefabricated plug-n-play technology was proposed. In order to maximize the transportable dimensions we opted for two units having the same sizes as the shipping containers (20’- 40’) that can be composed together in a plenty of solutions (on one or two floors) and, most of all, able to satisfy the needs of many types of possible users: families, couples or singles.
